Kate is a London-based musical theatre performer, singer, actress and actor-musician.
Kate trained in Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy of Music under the watchful eye of Mary Hammond.
Previously, she spent four years in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and trained as a Classical Soprano at King's College London, where she gained a BMus degree in Music, majoring in Classical Singing and Composition.
Kate is co-owner of theatre company '...andthenlondon'. Past productions include Romeo & Juliet, ...and then there were six and To Damascus, as part of The Network Theatre's 2007-8 season.
...andthenlondon and Kate have branched into the cabaret circuit with their quirky, retro act, Three Little Maids. They are regulars at the wonderful Battersea Barge, and can also be found tainting the grubbiest venues across London.
NEWS!!!
Currently, Kate is performing in Rent as the irritating, shoulder-padded Alexi Darling, which runs until May 17th at The Broadway Theatre, Catford, directed by Thom Southerland. She is also Assistant Musical Director and an actor-musician in the production, playing piano, violin, percussion and guitar (acoustic & electric). The show is the UK's first professional revival.
Rehearsals for the UK Premiere of The Unsinkable Molly Brown have just started! Kate will play Mrs Broderick, the tight-lipped journalist, in her second production with Thom Southerland as director. The show opens in May at The Landor Theatre. She will pull out the olde actor-musician skills yet again for this wonderful show, on violin, guitar, piano and ukelele!
Kate has just finished performing the new musical The Ripper, at The New Players Theatre. Kate played a lead, Catherine Eddows, with the other leads played by West End performers.
In August, Kate will travel up to The Edinburgh Fringe Festivalto play Downy in Honk!, the 4000th anniversary performance of the show. Some scenes and songs in the show are being re-written by the writers Stiles and Drewe themselves, so it's great to have the writers on board! Honk! will be shown at George One, the highest-profile musical theatre venue in Edinburgh.
